Submitting Events

COPA regularly shares upcoming aviation-related events with our flying community. When reviewing events submitted to COPA, we prioritize promoting events that meet the following criteria:

  • The event is organized by one of our COPA Flight chapters
  • The event promotes and/or advances the interests of General Aviation
  • The event encourages a new generation of pilots and aviators

To list your upcoming aviation event, please click on the following form. We kindly ask that submissions are provided at least 2-3 weeks in advance of your event.

  • COPA Flight 180’s Fourth Annual Charlie Lake Ice Fly-In
    Date: Mar. 9 & 10, 2024 (Alternate Weather Dates March 16 & 17), 10 am – 4 pm daily
    Location: Mayer Port on Charlie Lake, Charlie Lake, British Columbia V0C 1H0
    Description: Join COPA Flight 180 for refreshments and a hot dog roast (by donation for the Peace Seniors Connect and Care Society). More activities to be announced at the event!

  • Wings ‘n’ Wheels 2024 at Campbell River Airport (CYBL)
    Date: Jul. 14, 2024, 8 am – 3 pm
    Location: 2300 Airport Drive, Campbell River, British Columbia V9H 1T5
    Description: Static aircraft displays, classic cars (thank you North Island Cruisers!), entertainment, food trucks and meet the TeenFlight Campbell River students. Fly in or take the shuttle and make a day of it.
    Aircraft are welcome to arrive the day before and “camp under the wing”. Registration required for camping space by emailing hr@sealandaviation.com.

Alberta

  • COPA Flight 165’s Lac La Biche Annual Ice Fly-In
    Date: Feb. 24, 9am –  Feb. 25, 2024, 3pm
    Location: Lac La Biche Airport CYLB, SW of Lac La Biche Lake, Alberta, T0A 2C0
    Description: Join the Lac La Biche Flying Club (COPA Flight 165) for an amazing experience landing on ice and meeting new and old friends. Roast a hot dog and warm up with some hot beverages while you visit and view the many aircraft on the ice apron. The Festival of Speed is just a short walking distance away. Watch cars take to the ice and race. Take a look a the Trappers display and take part in axe throwing. Fuel available at the airport.

  • “That Night in the Woods” Pilot Survival Camp
    Date: Apr. 06, 2024, 8am – Apr. 07, 2024, 3pm
    Location: Red Deer Forestry Strip CFR7 / Sundre Airport CFN7, Mountain Veiw County, Alberta, T0M 1X0
    Description: Join COPA Flights 130 (Innisfail) and 146 (Sundre) for an overnight pilot survival camp. Event registration information to be determined closer to the event date.

  • COPA Flight 35’s Rust Remover Aviation Safety Seminar
    Date: Feb. 26, 2024, 7pm

    Description: Join COPA Flight 35 – Winnipeg for an aviation safety seminar presented by Conrad Hatcher. Seminar TC approved for recurrence. Admission of $10 payable at the door and advanced registration required at MBAviation.ca. Reception for COPA members with Jim Ferrier, COPA Director of Aviation Operations, 6:30 pm to 7 pm.

  • Manitoba Aviation Career Fair
    Date: Feb. 26, 2024, 11am – 7pm
    Location: Holiday Inn Winnipeg Airport – Polo Park, 1740 Ellice Avenue Winnipeg, MB R3H 0B3
    Description: The Manitoba Aviation Council invites you to attend their in-person aviation career fair. Meet recruiters from variety of aviation companies, including Westjet, Air Tindi, Harbour Air, Air Transat, NavCanada, Calm Air, Southport, as well as educational institutions like Red River College and Providence College, and pilot training companies Harv’s Air, Mountain City, and Winnipeg Aviation.   • Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre Annual “Wings Banquet”
    Date: Mar. 15, 2024,  4pm

    Description: The Wings Banquet is a gala event recognizing 2023 student pilot accomplishments at WWFC. Join for a chance to network with fellow aviators and attend presentations.   • COPA Flight 53’s Fly-in BBQ

  • Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre “Girls CAN Fly” event

    Description: This free educational event, supported by COPA Flight 26 BRESLAU FLYERS KITCHENER WATERLOO promotes women in aviation and offers free flights for girls aged 8 to 18 years.
